Small work knife - 5,- €Listenelement 4Small knives (paring knives) are the most commonly used knives in the kitchen. Whether for cutting tomatoes, carrots, etc., or for peeling potatoes or apples, this knife also needs a very sharp blade. I only sharpen small knives on at least 5 different wet whetstones with different grains (up to 10,000). Please be very, very careful when using these knives after sharpening. I promise, NO KNIFE leaves my sharpening studio if it cannot easily cut a sheet of paper without much effort, and this also applies especially to small knives.
-
Work knife medium & large - 10,-€Listenelement 2Work knives deserve my special attention. If necessary, I polish them beforehand and remove any unsightly scratches from the knives. This allows the knife to glide through the material being cut much better. The knives are then sharpened to razor sharpness using various diamond disks and Japanese wet grinding stones. My promise: NO KNIFE leaves my grinding studio if it cannot easily cut a sheet of paper without much effort.

Scissors - 10,-€Listenelement 3Household scissors are sharpened to the correct angle using a diamond disk. Disassembly is usually not necessary. Rose scissors must be disassembled and cleaned in an ultrasonic bath before sharpening. They are then sharpened by hand so that you can enjoy gardening again.
-
Lawnmower blades - 20,- €Lawnmowers are designed to cut through the material cleanly and not tear it off. It is therefore important to have a clean blade with a sharp edge. Lawnmower blades are first roughly cleaned and then intensively cleaned in an ultrasonic bath. Polishing and derusting the blade is of course part of the "wellness treatment", as is the subsequent grinding.
-
Axe & hatchet - 10,- to 15,-€Axes and hatchets are derusted by hand, permanently sealed with rust remover, polished to a high gloss and then sharpened by hand
-
Cutlery - 5,-€I have sharpened cutlery several times, but I am unable to sharpen a "serrated edge", "saw teeth" or whatever you want to call the "ridges" in the cutting edge. I don't have the right machine for that. Nevertheless, the cutlery knives I sharpen are so sharp that they could easily cut paper and glide through meat or other items as smoothly as butter. You certainly won't get pretty "stripes" on your buttered sandwich with them, but is that really necessary...?!
-
Brotmesser 15,-€Bread knives are not easy to sharpen and have to be painstakingly ground, wave by wave, with a diamond-coated round file. Hence the higher price.
-
Shaving head 10,- €A sharp shearing head is essential for the thorough shearing of horses, cattle, dogs, cats or sheep. With the Heiniger Combi-Grinder, the appropriate accessories and the various grinding powders, I have the perfect combination to sharpen all shearing heads. !!!Please oil the shearing heads every 10 minutes during use, otherwise the shearing heads will become too hot due to friction and could burn the animals!!!
!!!PLEASE NOTE!!!
to enjoy a sharp blade for a long time
- knives should not be put in the dishwasher (the salts are not good for the blade)
- never cut on glass/porcelain. Both materials are harder than metal and the cutting edge quickly becomes blunt.
- use only wooden boards (antiseptic effect) or plastic work boards (if absolutely necessary)
- Please do not pierce the lid with the tip of the knife to open the jar - the tip will bend
- put knives in the knife block with the cutting edge facing upwards, then the blade won't scrape across the wood when you pull it out. A magnetic strip for storage is better. Never throw knives loose in the drawer.
- Knives are not screwdrivers,
- the bottom of a cup or plate is not suitable for sharpening knives; it will scratch the blade. Whoever recommended this nonsense on YouTube should become a knife seller, not a knife sharpener.
Axes and hatchets are not suitable for working with metal and are not a substitute for a hammer for hammering in nails. Old nails in wood should always be removed before chopping.
By the way: Lawn mower blades do not like curbs or other objects that could damage the cutting edge.
